Senior Azure Architect / Platform Engineer

Salary: $112000 - 148000 per year Requirements: We need someone who has personally designed, built, and operated Azure environments at scale. We want deep experience in Azure networking, including virtual networks, hub-and-spoke design, Virtual WAN, Azure Firewall, VPN connectivity, and secure private access. We require hands-on knowledge of Entra ID, Management Groups, Azure Policy, and RBAC for governance and access control. We need experience delivering Infrastructure as Code with Bicep; Terraform is an acceptable alternative. We want familiarity with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring and observability, and FinOps or cloud cost management. We value experience in commercial Azure and Azure Government environments. We prefer background in state or federal government settings, with exposure to NIST 800-53 and CJIS. We prefer experience with Kubernetes/AKS, managed identities, SQL high availability, hybrid identity, and zero trust architecture. We are looking for someone who can challenge existing designs, think operationally, document decisions, mentor junior engineers, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with limited bureaucracy. We value experience across office 365 administration, help desk, traditional Windows Server administration, pure networking, project management, or solution sales engineering. Responsibilities: We will rely on you to lead Azure infrastructure, cloud architecture, networking, and platform engineering efforts. You will design Azure landing zones from the ground up. You will build enterprise hub-and-spoke or Virtual WAN architectures. You will implement governance with Management Groups, Azure Policy, RBAC, and Entra ID. You will develop repeatable Infrastructure as Code solutions using Bicep or Terraform. You will design secure networking solutions such as VPNs, ExpressRoute, NSGs, Azure Firewall, and private endpoints. You will support both commercial Azure and Azure Government environments. You will partner directly with application teams to shape cloud-native solutions. You will create scalable deployment patterns rather than one-off implementations. You will work across both brownfield and greenfield environments. You will troubleshoot complex Azure issues independently, without depending on Microsoft support. You will take ownership of outcomes, not just individual tasks.
