Security Engineer

The role of Security Engineer in the insurance industry is based in Singapore and involves strengthening and maintaining the organisation's security infrastructure. This temporary position within the technology department requires a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating security risks. Client Details An organisation operating in the insurance industry, headquartered in Singapore. Description Implement and maintain security protocols and systems to safeguard organisational assets. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity operations, security engineering, managed security services, infrastructure security, or related technology risk functions. Monitor and analyse security incidents, responding promptly to mitigate risks. Practical experience supporting security technologies such as email security, IDPS, WAF, anti-malware, attack surface monitoring, certificate management,vulnerability management, SIEM/SOAR, endpoint security, or cloud security controls. Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, secure configuration practices, incident response support, threat detection, vulnerability management, access control, logging, and security monitoring. Working knowledge of scripting or automation using languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, or equivalent is preferred. Strong stakeholder management, documentation, problem-solving, and collaboration skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a regulated financial services environment. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with security policies and regulations. Provide guidance and training to staff on security best practices and awareness. Evaluate and recommend security tools and technologies to enhance system protection. Document security processes, incidents and resolutions for future reference. Support the technology team in implementing secure systems and applications. Profile A successful Security Engineer should have: Proven expertise in implementing and managing security systems. Strong analytical skills to assess and address security vulnerabilities. Knowledge of compliance standards and best practices in the insurance industry.
