About the role
Salary: $117000 - 141000 per year Requirements: Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Civil Engineering Reliability Engineer Certification preferred Familiarity with instrumentation, process controls (PLCs), motors, starters, and VFDs Understanding of fluid systems (both compressible and non-compressible), vibration, and rotating equipment Proficient in computer software including Excel, Word, Project, AutoCAD, and PowerPoint Strong project management capabilities Awareness of hazards relevant to the job responsibilities Ability to follow Lockout/Tagout procedures and adhere to safety protocols Capacity to make independent decisions and manage conflicting priorities Willingness to collaborate with both plant and corporate teams Excellent communication, organizational, planning, and scheduling skills Capability to instruct personnel at all levels (supervisory and hourly) Physical ability to walk on diverse surfaces, climb up to 200 ft, and maneuver in tight spaces Valid class C drivers license with an ability to travel overnight as necessary Preferred: Experience in an industrial plant, knowledge of SAP Production, familiarity with union contracts, understanding of state labor laws related to wage and hour, maintenance or reliability engineering experience. Responsibilities: Collaborate closely with the Maintenance Planner, Maintenance Engineer, and Purchasing to ensure spare parts and critical equipment repair parts are well-stocked Assess and analyze equipment to develop reliability-centered maintenance initiatives Partner with Planner and Purchasing to establish and uphold an effective Bill of Materials (BOM) process Investigate plant issues by determining root causes of equipment failures Compile data to present conclusions on root cause failures Execute corrective and preventive measures to enhance reliability Gather, analyze, and manage data to reduce failures and boost performance using failure analysis techniques Set up and oversee plant vibration, lubrication, and oil analysis programs for all systems Create and maintain preventive maintenance procedures and documentation for all equipment Adjust and maintain plant engineering systems and documentation as needed Oversee projects including safety management, scope development, budgeting, and coordination with internal and external resources Contribute to departmental budget formulation, maintenance reporting, and capital expenditure requests Motivate and engage employees at all levels to develop innovative strategies for continuous improvement and increased reliability Cultivate a culture of reliability and provide training to support safety and equipment efficiency Supervise the daily tasks of dust collection and lube hourly union staff Coordinate training sessions with vendors and equipment suppliers for plant equipment Assist in implementing a culture change within the maintenance department.
