Requirements:
Join KOIA and work on a modern fintech platform built for the Scandinavian market. We are looking for an experienced QA Engineer / Software Tester to join a long-term project for our Norwegian client. This role is ideal for someone who wants to take ownership of quality beyond simply executing tests. You will be responsible for planning QA activities, designing test scenarios and test coverage, identifying quality risks early, and helping the team continuously improve its approach to testing. You’ll work remotely in a collaborative product team operating in Scrum, where QA is involved throughout the entire development lifecycle, from refinement and planning to release. We are looking for someone who can independently answer the question: What do we need to test, when should we test it, and how should we approach it to release this change to production with confidence? Project You will work on an Accounting Practice Management System , co-owned by three major accounting firms. Once fully onboarded, the platform will serve 3,000+ daily enterprise users . The client’s engineering team is intentionally small, with 5-6 experienced developers, and focuses on building a better product than competitors with significantly larger engineering organizations. Their advantage comes from excellent engineering practices, pragmatic decision-making, and high-quality software. As the QA Engineer, you will play an important role in strengthening that quality-first approach by helping the team identify risks earlier, establish effective test coverage, and continuously improve the QA process. Your qualifications You might be the perfect match if you are/have: 3-4+ years of commercial experience in QA / software testing Strong hands-on experience with manual, functional, regression, and end-to-end testing Experience with Playwright Experience independently preparing test plans, test scenarios, and test cases Ability to design an effective test structure and determine appropriate test coverage for a developing product Experience building and maintaining regression test suites Experience working in an Agile / Scrum environment Ability to analyze requirements, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria for completeness and testability Ability to identify gaps, ambiguities, edge cases, and quality risks before implementation begins Strong ownership and the ability to organize and prioritize your own work Ability to estimate QA effort and plan testing activities across sprints and releases Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with developers, analysts, Product Owners, and other stakeholders Very good English communication skills, minimum B2 A quality-focused mindset that goes beyond individual tickets and considers the entire feature delivery process Nice-to-have Experience testing REST APIs Experience creating or maintaining automated E2E and API tests Knowledge of TypeScript, Python , or another language used in test automation Familiarity with Git and CI/CD Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines Experience with Jira, Confluence , or similar tools Ability to analyze logs and independently investigate the root cause of issues Practical experience using AI tools in day-to-day QA work Experience using AI-assisted workflows for test case generation, debugging, test data preparation, or QA analysis Experience working in fintech or product companies What We Value Ownership and accountability A proactive approach to quality Strong communication and collaboration skills Curiosity and a continuous learning mindset Pragmatic approach to solving complex problems Attention to detail and product quality Openness to feedback and continuous improvement Taking initiative and suggesting improvements instead of waiting for direction The ability to identify risks early rather than treating QA as the final step before release

Daily tasks: - Plan the scope, priorities, and sequence of QA activities across sprints and releases
– Design the testing strategy, test architecture, test scenarios, and test cases
– Prepare and execute manual, functional, regression, and end-to-end tests
– Build, maintain, and continuously improve regression test suites
– Review requirements, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria for completeness, clarity, and testability
– Identify quality risks before development begins and raise them early with the team
– Report, analyze, reproduce, and verify defects
– Collaborate closely with developers, analysts, and the Product Owner
– Actively participate in Sprint Planning, Refinement, Daily Scrum, and Retrospectives
– Help the team estimate QA effort and determine the appropriate testing approach for new features
– Plan regression and E2E testing as part of release preparation
– Develop and improve QA standards, test documentation, and regression processes
– Create and maintain automated E2E and API tests when needed
– Support the integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
– Analyze issues and logs to help identify potential root causes
– Contribute to improving the overall quality and reliability of the product
– Work in the Central European Time zone (CET) and be available during core CET business hours
– Occasionally travel to Norway or Poland for in-person meetings and events
– Most importantly, your work does not begin when a developer moves a ticket to “Ready for QA.”
– We expect you to be actively involved during planning and refinement, assessing testing scope, identifying risks, preparing scenarios, and determining how regression and E2E testing should be approached before development is complete.
