About the role

Drive discovery and delivery for a defined area of the payments platform.

This is a remote position. About Us: Berkeley Payments is a leading payment technology provider specializing in innovative solutions for businesses to manage and process payments seamlessly. We pride ourselves on offering cutting-edge financial technology to our clients, empowering businesses to streamline operations and improve their payment processes. Role Overview: We are looking for a sharp, customer-obsessed Product Manager to drive discovery and delivery for a defined area of our payments platform. Working in partnership with senior product leadership and engineering, you will own the full lifecycle for your area: understanding the real problem, defining what we build and why, and seeing it through from concept to launch and beyond. This is a role for someone who reasons from first principles. You will not be handed a backlog to administer. You will be expected to develop a real understanding of how card programs, disbursements, and money movement work, form a point of view on what we should build next, and back that point of view with evidence. You will translate business goals and compliance constraints into clear, prioritized plans and crisp specifications that engineering can build against. We operate as a growing company with a startup mentality. Requirements evolve, priorities shift, and the highest-leverage problem is rarely the one that is loudest. You should be comfortable making decisions with incomplete information, saying no to good ideas in service of the right ones, and being measured on outcomes rather than output. Key Responsibilities: Own the roadmap and delivery for a defined product area, in partnership with senior product leadership, and be accountable for the outcomes your work produces. Run product discovery: talk to clients and internal stakeholders, frame problems precisely, and validate that a problem is worth solving before committing engineering capacity to it. Write clear product requirements, acceptance criteria, and decision documents that remove ambiguity for engineering, design, and client-facing teams. Prioritize ruthlessly within your area. Make explicit tradeoffs between scope, time, risk, and value, and communicate the reasoning behind every prioritization decision. Partner closely with engineering and design from ideation through launch, ensuring technical feasibility, sound scoping, and alignment with business goals. Define and instrument the metrics that tell you whether a feature is working. Use data to decide what to double down on, what to fix, and what to stop. Manage stakeholder expectations across internal teams and clients, keeping commitments realistic and communication direct. Treat the regulatory and compliance landscape of payments (card network rules, PCI DSS, KYC/AML, data residency) as first-class product requirements, not afterthoughts. Coordinate with implementation, client success, and delivery teams to ensure new capabilities can actually be configured, sold, supported, and operated at scale. Contribute to the product operating system itself: help improve how we capture intake, separate it from committed work, and decide what gets built. Identify product, delivery, and reputational risks early and escalate them before they reach a client. Stay current on the payments and fintech landscape, and bring new approaches, partners, and ideas that strengthen the platform. Share what you learn and strengthen product practice across the team. The Landscape You'll Work In You do not need prior experience with every item below, but you should be excited to develop fluency in them quickly: White-label prepaid and disbursement card programs across Visa and Mastercard The roles of processors, BIN sponsors, and card networks, and how they constrain what is possible B2B and enterprise clients spanning financial institutions, government disbursement programs, and corporate payroll API-driven platform products and the integration realities of enterprise clients Tooling such as Jira, Confluence, product analytics, and CRM/ticketing systems used to run discovery, delivery, and feedback loops Qualifications: 3+ years of product management experience, preferably building B2B, platform, or fintech products. A track record of shipping products or features that moved a real business or customer metric, not just work that launched. Solid product discovery skills: you can frame a problem, design a way to validate it, and change your mind when the evidence says so. Excellent written communication. You can make a tradeoff legible to an engineer, a manager, and a client in the same document. Comfort with technical concepts (APIs, data, system constraints) sufficient to engage credibly with engineers. Strong analytical skills and fluency working with data to inform decisions. The ability to operate with a degree of autonomy in an environment of changing priorities and incomplete information. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to align cross-functional teams around a d
