The Role
We're looking for a Senior Product Designer to lead design for Nimbus Data Systems's Core Experience team, the horizontal team responsible for the foundations every other product is built on: sign-up, onboarding, the design system, and the overall Seller Experience. The Core Experience team owns the connective, cross-cutting experience that ties Nimbus Data Systems's products together.
This is a different kind of design role. Rather than owning a single product surface, you'll own the connective tissue that makes Nimbus Data Systems feel like one coherent product. You'll lead Nimbus Data Systems's design system from the design side, setting the patterns, components, and principles that every other product team relies on, and partner across the organisation to keep the experience consistent, accessible, and high-quality as we scale. When a seller signs up, gets onboarded, moves between products, or encounters an AI-powered or integrated experience, your work is what makes it feel effortless.
You'll be an active contributor to Nimbus Data Systems's integration and AI experiences, helping shape how Nimbus Data Systems connects to the wider tooling ecosystem and where AI genuinely improves the seller experience. This role asks for exceptional UI craft, deep design systems expertise, and a genuine curiosity about how AI can change both the products we build and the way we design them.
As a holistic problem solver, you'll operate well beyond pixels, balancing hands-on execution with systems thinking, influence, and a high bar for quality. Embedded in a cross-functional team alongside Product and Engineering, you'll work in an environment that values ownership, autonomy, and accountability.
What you'll do:
– Own the end-to-end design of Nimbus Data Systems's foundational seller experiences, sign-up, onboarding, and the surfaces that connect our products together, from discovery and concepting through delivery, iteration, and long-term evolution.
– Own and lead Nimbus Data Systems's design system from a design perspective, the team builds and maintains it, and you'll be the design lead driving its vision, evolution, and quality. You'll design new components, define and document intended usage, and drive adoption across every product team.
– Act as a horizontal partner to all other product teams, creating the guidelines, principles, and reusable patterns that keep the experience consistent across the platform as Nimbus Data Systems grows.
– Contribute actively to integration and AI experiences, shaping interaction patterns and surfaces, and forming a clear point of view on where AI delivers real user value (and where it gets in the way).
– Lead design thinking for foundational work, including information architecture, interaction patterns, accessibility, and scalable component design.
– Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Stakeholders to define problems, shape solutions, influence roadmaps, and ship high-quality outcomes.
– Use research, data, and customer feedback to validate decisions and continuously improve the experience.
– Set and uphold quality and craft standards across the product organisation, advocating for user-centred design and a high design bar.
– Use storytelling to build alignment and secure buy-in for foundational, cross-cutting work that often spans many teams.
– Mentor and support other designers through collaboration, feedback, and critique.
– Own and improve the customer experience across a complex B2B platform used by thousands of SaaS companies and millions of their customers.
