Join our Accessories Product Design team and drive the future of wired data and power transmission across multiple systems and stand-alone products. We are a dynamic group that leads new product introduction from the architectural phase through production ramping. We work collaboratively with many groups from Industrial Design to Reliability to Technical Program Management and Hardware engineering. Leave your mark on future Lumen Dynamics products. Description In Accessories Product Design you will directly interface with many system teams from Mac to Audio to Vision and everything in-between. You will design cable solutions in the most efficient and elegant ways possible. Use your creative intellect to drive the next generation of technologies into our cable designs all while balancing functionality with size, reliability, cost, cosmetics and environmental goals. Responsibilities: Create engineering requirement documents Design cables and assemblies to meet product and cross-functional requirements, including Industrial Design, Signal Integrity, Reliability, Safety, Cosmetic, Functional, and other requirements Review and support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) documentation. Support module and system-level builds Review test results and drive failure analysis and corrective action support Travel of approximately 5-10% to Asia Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of product design experience. Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), and Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, and geometric tolerancing. Experience with component modules (Connectors, batteries, electronics packaging, PCBAs) Understanding of how to size wires, select connectors and shielding to meet signal integrity and/or power requirements. Experience with designing stamped sheet metal parts and/or deep drawn metal parts. Experience working with overseas manufacturers. Strong analytical/problem solving skills and ability to use statistical tools and techniques. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering 3 years of mechanical design experience Proficiency in 3D CAD and creating 2D drawings. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) including presenting technical data to multi-disciplinary teams. Experience with designing injection and/or compression molded parts and/or stamped parts and/or deep draw metal parts. Pay & Benefits At Lumen Dynamics, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $150,400 and $277,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Lumen Dynamics employees also have the opportunity to become an Lumen Dynamics shareholder through participation in Lumen Dynamics's discretionary employee stock programs. Lumen Dynamics employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Lumen Dynamics stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Lumen Dynamics's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
