Principal Software Engineer

Salary: $206,100.54 - 309,150.81 per year Requirements: 15+ years of relevant professional experience. Bachelors degree preferred; we may also consider a combination of coursework and experience or extensive related professional experience. Responsibilities: Provide senior technical leadership and direction across our Streaming Hub Applications and Application Infrastructure teams. Set the long-term technical strategy for Streaming Hub in partnership with Engineering, Product, and Enterprise Architecture. Lead architectural initiatives and establish standards that strengthen platform consistency, scalability, reliability, and maintainability, including API architecture and design patterns. Advance software development and delivery practices, including CI/CD, feature-controlled deployments, automated testing, observability, and operational readiness. Guide our cloud and infrastructure strategy, including multi-cloud architecture, resiliency, disaster recovery, and cost optimization. Identify and lead strategic investments and refactoring to reduce technical debt, architectural divergence, and operational complexity while improving engineering velocity. Lead the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices and reusable patterns for AI agents and developer workflows. Review designs and provide technical oversight for complex or cross-team initiatives, identifying architectural risks and dependencies. Improve engineering practices through design and operational readiness reviews and lessons learned from incidents. Mentor senior engineers and help develop technical leaders across teams. Partner with engineering leadership to improve onboarding, developer productivity, engineering consistency, quality, and operational performance. Develop and implement software solutions aligned with strategic objectives and customer needs; integrate applications with existing systems and assess system requirements, scalability, and security. Maintain development documentation and encourage best practices and knowledge sharing. Define and monitor performance metrics, using results to guide continuous improvement. Lead technical design, project planning, resource allocation, and collaboration with Quality Assurance to meet specifications and customer expectations. Oversee software development, testing, release, and deployment to support timely delivery within budget. Exercise independent judgment in significant matters and perform other duties as assigned. The New York base salary range is $206,100.54–$309,150.81; the selected candidates offer within that range depends on job-related factors such as experience. Base pay is part of our total rewards, which may include a bonus for non-sales roles, commissions for most sales roles, and benefits for eligible employees, with options and support for physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
