Principal Product Manager - Domain PM

About the role
Own a domain's product end-to-end, shaping the roadmap and outcomes.
About interface.ai interface.ai is the agentic AI platform for financial services — bringing conversational and agentic AI to the credit unions and community banks that serve everyday Americans. We're not a lab, we're not a demo company, and we're not burning runway on hypotheticals. We are in production, generating real revenue, and on a mission that matters: making intelligent financial services available to the millions of people who've never had a private banker. More than 100 banks and credit unions run on interface.ai , reaching over 10 million people. Many products are live today; the biggest bets — an AI-first contact center and an AI-native consumer banking experience — are what comes next. Backed by $30M in Series A funding and already cash-flow positive, we're at the inflection point: a proven product, paying customers, and a profitable business rebuilding itself as an AI-native company to lead a world where agents, not software, do the work. The Role As a Domain PM you own a domain's product end-to-end — its demand, its packaging, and the outcomes it drives. Not a backlog, not a feature queue. You shape the roadmap under real ambiguity rather than executing one handed to you, you partner your Chief Engineer as a peer, and you hold a council seat alongside the founders for product planning. You're technical enough to hold your own with a senior engineer, and AI-native in how you do the work itself. Because AI handles the routine, the team is small, senior, and high-leverage. This is a rare chance to own an entire domain's product at a profitable, category-leading AI company outright — and to shape where banking goes next. Areas You Could Work On These are some of the areas a Domain PM could own: • The core AI platform that every other product team builds on. • The platform on which interface.ai ‘s own teams and its customers build and deploy agents, including its self-serve growth motion. • The AI agents members talk to across voice and chat, and the AI-first contact center for employees. • How AI conversations turn into measurable outcomes for the institution — growth, value, and ROI. • An AI-native consumer banking experience with the distribution to reach millions. What You'll Own • Product direction for your domain — where to invest, what to build, in what order, and what to sunset. • Outcomes, with your Chief Engineer — what the domain delivers and the impact it has, not just what ships. • The roadmap under ambiguity — you translate real demand, from customers or from the teams you serve, into a plan and defend it against becoming a feature factory. • The quality and capability bar, in partnership with engineering. • An AI-native way of working — you build with AI daily to prototype, analyze, and accelerate the work, not just to write copy. What We're Looking For • 8+ years in product management, with time at Staff / Principal level owning a product area or domain end-to-end with measurable outcomes — not a backlog administrator. • Operated under real ambiguity — you shaped the roadmap, you didn't just execute one someone else wrote. • Technical enough to partner a senior engineer as a peer — you can read architecture, debate trade-offs, and stay credible in a deeply technical conversation. • Strong AI fluency in how you do product — you've moved beyond prompting into building agents, scripts, and workflows; the specific tools don't matter. • First-principles problem-solving, high learning velocity, and comfort with the pace and scope changes of a startup building process where none exists. • San Francisco-based and committed to working onsite. H1B transfers welcome. Who Tends To Thrive Here Domain PM seats range from clearer-mandate domains to the company's hardest, most consequential bets, leveled on scope and ambiguity rather than years. The strongest profiles tend to be one of two: • The platform owner — you've owned an infrastructure, platform, or AI/ML product that other teams build on, governed its contracts, and made the hard calls that let everyone downstream move faster. • The category-definer — you've owned a consumer or customer-facing product end-to-end at scale, ideally 0→1, with measurable growth, and the taste to know what to build and what to leave out. Bonus Points • Financial services, fintech, or regulated-industry experience. • Consumer fintech / neobank, or platform / developer-tool / PLG product experience. • Built a product or platform 0→1 that others adopted and grew on. • Voice, conversational AI, or agentic systems at production scale. • Built a product team or function from scratch. What This Role Is — And Isn't This is an ownership seat, not a backlog-management one. You own a domain's product end-to- end and the outcomes it drives, as the equal partner of the Chief Engineer who builds it. If you measure yourself in tickets shipped, or you need a detailed roadmap handed to you, this isn't the role. It's also not a role for someone who needs a settled org around t
