Principal Platform Engineer

Salary: $182000 - 244000 per year Requirements: We need 10+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or Server Engineering. We are looking for someone skilled in automating deployments, validating infrastructure, and enforcing security guardrails. Strong analytical thinking, organization, and communication abilities are essential. You should be able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-moving environment. You must be comfortable managing multiple projects and shifting priorities. Experience supporting production systems in content creation, robotics, or creative settings is required. We value knowledge of server, storage, rendering, and network architectures. You should have experience applying Zero Trust principles, network segmentation, and secure access controls in hybrid production and enterprise environments. You need experience building, testing, and delivering highly available Windows and Linux systems. Experience with data lifecycle management and storage tiering technologies such as AWS Tiering or NetApp FabricPool is important. You should have a strong record of guiding engineers through complex hands-on work. Familiarity with enterprise security frameworks and operational security practices such as Zero Trust, NIST CSF, and NIST RMF is expected. You need deep knowledge of server security principles, practices, and emerging trends. We are looking for proven experience building, testing, and delivering production-grade server systems. You should be comfortable owning major initiatives end to end with limited oversight. Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, Grafana, Splunk, Prometheus, and Arista CloudVision is required. Hands-on experience with security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and endpoint protection solutions is needed. A professional certification such as CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ is preferred. Experience with compliance frameworks such as NIST or ISO 27001 is preferred. A commitment to continuous learning in infrastructure, platform, and operational security practices is preferred. A bachelors degree is required, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related technical field. Responsibilities: We develop, implement, and maintain secure platform infrastructure across physical and virtual Windows and Linux systems, following operational, security, and reliability best practices. We monitor and evaluate infrastructure, network, and system activity using observability platforms to spot performance issues, operational risks, and possible security threats. We support compliance efforts and operational security practices aligned with internal policies and frameworks such as Zero Trust, NIST CSF, and NIST RMF. We design and deploy secure infrastructure architectures, including network segmentation, secure access controls, and hybrid production and enterprise environments. We manage and tune high-availability infrastructure that supports rendering, content creation, and production workflows across server, storage, and network platforms. We perform risk assessments, vulnerability reviews, and remediation coordination to improve infrastructure security and resilience. We support incident response, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, documentation, and corrective action implementation. We work with engineering, operations, and security partners to deliver secure, scalable, and dependable infrastructure solutions. We support infrastructure automation and operational tooling to improve deployment consistency, monitoring, and system lifecycle management. We prepare operational and security reports covering infrastructure health, compliance metrics, incident trends, and remediation progress. We stay up to date on emerging infrastructure technologies, observability platforms, operational security practices, and industry trends.
