Platform Engineer at Meridian Softworks
Platform Engineer (AWS), Gaming & Entertainment
Department: Technology
Location: Helsinki
Employment Type: FullTime
Meridian Softworks's award-winning tech community is looking for a Platform Engineer to join our Gaming & Entertainment Business Unit in Helsinki.
If you enjoy designing and building large-scale cloud platforms, working hands-on with IaC, CI/CD, security and observability, and collaborating closely with product teams and stakeholders, you might be just what we are looking for.
As a Platform Engineer at Meridian Softworks, your job is to design, build and operate secure, scalable and cost-efficient cloud platforms that support product teams and our client’s business needs.
In this role, you will be working as part of a Meridian Softworks team consulting the client and supporting the product team with infrastructure automation and DevOps practices. The work may include building new infrastructure and platforms, or help to integrate the existing infrastructure with what our clients might already have.
You will join our Gaming & Entertainment Business Unit, where you will support clients in this domain.
Your daily tasks include:
– Designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud environments that use the latest best practices and technologies to help product teams deliver the best possible solutions.
– Making sure security and compliance are built into everything you create.
– Enabling scalable and resilient infrastructure that can grow with demand and keep the digital services running reliably.
– Driving cost-efficiency by seeking our opportunities to reduce operational costs without compromising performance or reliability.
– Automating as many routine tasks as possible to free up engineers time to focus on higher-value work.
– Promoting standardization through common tools, processes and configurations to reduce complexity, improve maintainability, and accelerate development cycles.
– Acting as a trusted advisor by working closely with product teams and other stakeholders to understand the requirements and provide the infrastructure support they need.
You enjoy turning complex, fragmented infrastructure into streamlined, scalable platforms that let teams move quickly and reliably.
To thrive in this position, you’ll need:
– Hands-on experience in cloud/ infra/ DevOps roles. We don’t have a hard limit with years of experience, but we’ve noticed that these competencies often take 7+ years to accumulate.
– Experience in AWS (preferably combined with GCP), including production experience with multi-account setups, networking, security, IAM, monitoring.
– Experience with at least one IaC tool (e.g. Terraform, AWS CloudFormation)
– Solid scripting / programming skills for automation (e.g. Python and/or Go; Bash/PowerShell)
– Strong CI/CD experience (e.g. GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins or similar)
– Practical experience with observability (e.g. CloudWatch, Prometheus, ELK/Opensearch)
– Strong understanding of application architectures and the ability to read and reason about code to debug platform issues
– Hands-on experience with cloud cost optimization and FinOps practices
– Experience implementing security best practices in cloud environments following industry standards and compliance
– Customer oriented mindset, with experience in partnering closely with clients/ stakeholders.
– Fluency in English
