Okta Security Engineer

Salary: $134000 - 178000 per year Requirements: We are looking for strong hands-on experience with Okta administration and identity provider configuration. We need a background in integrating enterprise and custom applications with identity providers. We expect experience supporting application deployment and release workflows. You should have practical expertise in implementing SSO and MFA solutions. We require a deep understanding of modern authentication and authorization standards, including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, JWT, API-based authentication, and token security models. A solid grasp of web application architecture and secure application design is important. Familiarity with modern web stacks, especially React and Node.js, is preferred. You should have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain and defend security design choices using established standards. Security certifications in IAM, cloud security, or identity governance are a plus. Experience with network policies, firewall settings, and infrastructure security controls is preferred. Knowledge of secure cloud application architecture is beneficial. Responsibilities: We will design, configure, and support Okta identity and access management solutions. We will implement and maintain SSO, MFA, and application integrations across cloud and web platforms. We will configure and support authentication and authorization flows using OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML 2.0, JWTs, API keys, ID and access tokens, and delegated or on-behalf-of authentication patterns. We will integrate enterprise applications with Okta while upholding secure authentication and authorization standards. We will partner with application development teams to embed secure identity solutions into modern web applications. We will take part in architecture reviews and security design discussions, offering recommendations aligned with industry standards and best practices. We will troubleshoot authentication, authorization, federation, and access issues. We will support deployment activities and coordinate identity-related changes during releases. We will collaborate with security, infrastructure, and development teams to deliver secure and scalable solutions. We will create and maintain documentation, standards, and implementation guides.
