About the Role: At Vantage Compute, we believe technology should serve the greater good, powering mission outcomes, stewarding taxpayer resources, and enabling innovation at speed and scale. Our UX teams aspire to create products people love, tools that make a user's day more productive and a developer's application more powerful. In this role, you will work on Missionforce, Vantage Compute products supporting mission-critical work across the U.S. Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, Aerospace, and Allied Nations. You will help create new design patterns and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to bring bold ideas to life. You will lead the team in shaping and articulating a compelling product vision, applying expert visualization skills, thought leadership, and close partnership with product and technology leaders. You will immerse yourself in the full end-to-end experience design process, from storyboards and journey maps to high-fidelity mockups and functional prototypes. You'll direct the team in crafting and articulating the product vision, requiring expert visualization skills, thought leadership, and the ability to work closely with product and technology partners. Mission Impact: Deep understanding of user-centered design methods and best practices. Experimental Mindset (Plus): Experience or a strong interest in leveraging AI tools (like Cursor, Replit, or LLMs) to explore, prototype, or automate design workflows. Prototyping & Curiosity: A track record of going beyond static mocks to explore how emerging tech can solve user problems. Systems Thinking: Ability to step back and see a project's larger ecosystem, with a focus on solutions that improve the entire user flow, not just a single feature. Strategic Influence: The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, persuade others, and build consensus on projects with varying degrees of ambiguity. Craft & Visual Excellence: Expert knowledge of current design tools such as Figma, along with an ability to quickly learn and adopt new tools as they emerge. Communication: Strong active listening skills with an ability to build close, trusting relationships across Engineering and Product Management. Ethics & Equality: An internal compass that points toward ethics, ensuring AI-driven experiences are designed with responsibility and inclusivity at the core. Required Qualifications: Must be a U.S. citizen (U.S. born or naturalized) living on U.S. soil who does not hold dual citizenship with the ability to meet customer and government screening standards applicable to this role. 10+ years of experience designing and delivering products from start to finish as part of a cross-functional team. Ability to travel as needed to customer sites. Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), Federal Civilian or public sector agencies.
