About the Client A major Brazilian financial institution specializing in investment banking, wealth management, and corporate lending. The customer develops secure digital banking platforms and financial solutions to serve a diverse global client base. What You’ll Do Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java Build and support event-driven architectures leveraging technologies such as Kafka, SQS, and RabbitMQ Develop and execute unit, integration, and performance tests Design and optimize solutions utilizing relational databases including MySQL and PostgreSQL Deploy and support applications in containerized environments using Docker, Kubernetes, and ECS Leverage AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, and ECS Implement observability practices to improve reliability and performance Design highly available and scalable systems utilizing concepts such as auto-scaling, load balancing, clustering, and disaster recovery Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and maintainable solutions Contribute to the team's technical evolution and continuous improvement initiatives What You Bring Strong proficiency in Java for backend development Hands-on experience with unit, integration, and performance testing Familiarity with event-driven architectures using Kafka, SQS, or RabbitMQ Knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL Experience with containerized environments including Docker, Kubernetes, and ECS Experience with AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, and ECS Understanding of observability practices and monitoring strategies Solid understanding of scalability concepts including auto-scaling, load balancing, clustering, and disaster recovery Familiarity with software engineering principles such as SOLID, Clean Code, DRY, KISS, and YAGNI Commitment to code quality and maintainability Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities Clear communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences Strong collaboration and teamwork across cross-functional teams Critical thinking and effective decision-making abilities Proactive mindset with the ability to take ownership and initiative Adaptability and eagerness to learn new technologies Strong organizational and prioritization skills Quality-focused mindset with attention to detail and engineering excellence Nice to have Experience with other cloud providers such as Azure or GCP Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools including Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible Knowledge of additional programming languages such as Python, Kotlin, or Golang Background in financial services, including banking, fintech, card companies, or other financial institutions Experience working in hybrid environments Passion for learning and actively contributing to the team's technical evolution English level Intermediate/Upper-Intermediate Work Type: Remote Legal & Hiring Information Keystone AI is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to inclusion across minority, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, and more Reasonable accommodations are available to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions Please note: this job description is not exhaustive.
