This Mid level Software Application Developer position supports the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in the area of Support Services. The mission-critical program provides comprehensive training, safety, standards, curriculum development, and technical modernization services to ensure national border security agents can operate safely and effectively. Location: Remote or Oklahoma City, OK Status: Full-Time / Contingent Upon Contract Award Our technical systems must adapt constantly to changing security environments. In this role, you write the features and build the database integrations that keep the secure tracking and reporting platform agile, stable, and highly functional for thousands of daily active users. Who You Are You are a dedicated, detail-oriented coder who loves building clean, user-centric features. You enjoy collaborating in an Agile environment and thrive when given the creative freedom to solve tricky programming issues. You are eager to grow your skills under the guidance of senior architects, while actively taking ownership of core system modules. What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities) Build Core Features: Design, write, and test web-based application components in a secure, cloud-hosted environment (AWS). Support Integration: Assist with database design, API integrations (Microsoft 365, SharePoint), and query optimizations. Maintain & Secure: Diagnose, debug, and resolve software bugs while ensuring all components adhere to federal Section 508 and DevSecOps guidelines. Team Participation: Actively engage in daily standups, sprint planning, and collaborative code reviews. What You Bring (Qualifications) Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional software development experience. Tech Stack: Proficiency in languages like Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern UI frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue). Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a federal background suitability check.
