Mainframe Developer

Mandatory Skills: COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM and CICS (non-negotiable) - Please do not endorse candidates who lack any of these. Responsibilities: • Develop, maintain and enhance mainframe applications and systems using COBOL, Assembler, JCL, CICS, DB2, and other programming languages and tools • Design and implement solutions that meet business requirements and technical specifications • Provide technical guidance and support to junior developers • Collaborate with other teams, including business analysts, quality assurance, and project management, to ensure successful project delivery • Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities • Identify and resolve technical issues and bugs in a timely manner • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in mainframe development Skills and Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field • 3-8 years of experience in mainframe development • Strong knowledge of COBOL, Assembler, JCL, CICS, DB2, and other mainframe programming languages and tools • Experience working with mainframe systems such as z/OS, IMS, and VSAM • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently and in a team environment • Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus • Experience in banking industry is preferred
