Our client, a public sector organisation in Belgium, is working on the digital transformation of several heritage and geographic information systems. The organisation is implementing a modern service-oriented architecture using open-source technologies and geospatial platforms. Multiple web-based applications are maintained and continuously improved, while new digital services are being developed. These applications rely heavily on geospatial data, mapping services, and REST-based integrations. The Senior Frontend Developer will play a key role in designing and developing user interfaces for these applications while collaborating closely with architects, backend developers, and domain experts. Requirements · Design and develop modern web applications using JavaScript frameworks. · Build and maintain frontend components for complex digital platforms. · Integrate frontend applications with REST services and backend systems. · Work with geospatial data and mapping interfaces. · Participate in Agile development processes including design, coding, testing, and debugging. · Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable digital solutions. · Contribute to both new development projects and maintenance releases. Required Skills Expertise Must Have · Strong experience with JavaScript frameworks (minimum 6 years) · Experience with Vue.js · Solid knowledge of HTML5 and CSS · Experience with Docker · Experience using Git · Proven experience developing web-based applications · Fluent Dutch language skills Should Have · Experience with REST Web Services · Knowledge of Agile development methodologies · Experience mentoring developers or contributing to technical leadership Nice to Have · Knowledge of Python frameworks · Experience with PostgreSQL / PostGIS · Experience working in Linux environments · Experience with geospatial technologies such as GeoServer or OpenLayers · Knowledge of GIS standards and semantic web technologies
