Linux Applications Engineer

Salary: $170000 - 255000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. We are seeking a mid-level to senior engineer with 3 to 8 years of professional experience. We require at least 2 years of Linux application development experience. We require at least 3 years of programming experience in C. We need strong proficiency in C/C++ development within a Linux environment. We require experience building applications for Linux systems, including direct hands-on software development. We need excellent collaboration, communication, and interpersonal abilities. We require the ability to work onsite at our headquarters in Hauppauge, NY. We require self-direction, accountability, and the ability to manage individual work effectively. We require prior experience working with cross-functional engineering teams. We prefer experience with object-oriented design principles, inter-process communication, and multi-threading. We prefer experience developing for Linux Yocto, the BlueZ Bluetooth stack, GATT, Conman, and supplicant networking. We value additional experience with Pianoteq, GStreamer, FFmpeg, MIDI protocol development, or a music background. Responsibilities: We develop software for client projects across the full development lifecycle, from requirements gathering through deployment. We write and maintain code in C/C++ within Linux-based environments. We design and implement secure communication protocols over Wi-Fi, WAN, and BLE. We collaborate closely with our multi-functional engineering teams. We contribute to iterative development using agile practices and help deliver high-quality products. We communicate directly with clients on both technical and business matters. We manage our own workload and take responsibility for meeting project schedules, budgets, and quality expectations. We apply object-oriented design principles in our engineering work. We work with inter-process communication and multi-threaded software designs.
