Lead Systems Engineer, Control Systems

Salary: $100,000 - 145,000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree with at least 9 years of prior control systems analysis experience, or a graduate degree with at least 7 years of prior control systems analysis experience, or 13 years of prior experience in lieu of a degree. We prefer a bachelors degree in aerospace, electrical, mechanical, systems engineering, or a related technical field. We are looking for strong experience with dynamic modeling and simulation, control algorithm development, and propulsion system analysis. We value proficiency in Matlab/Simulink and C/C++. We prefer experience with control theory, propulsion theory, propulsion system controls, design, integration, and testing. We prefer experience working in a classified environment. We prefer experience with post-test data analysis. We seek demonstrated leadership ability and strong verbal and written communication skills. You must be able to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance; active clearance is preferred. Responsibilities: We perform dynamic modeling and simulation, as well as control algorithm design and development for propulsion systems. We model and analyze actuation systems. We conduct steady-state and transient performance modeling and analysis. We build and analyze models in Matlab/Simulink and C/C++. We help define rocket propulsion hardware and software requirements, including internal requirement allocation. We support propulsion system testing by developing test plans and procedures, creating pre-test predictions, integrating electronic test support equipment, and developing test-related software. We coordinate closely with avionics and software engineering teams. We analyze test data. We mentor and train early-career team members. We may travel about 10% of the time for offsite testing.
