About the role

We are looking for a Lead Python Developer to join the Financial Engineering unit within Global Risk Analytics (GRA). This role is part of the Model Enablement team, which collaborates closely with Wholesale Credit Risk modellers and drives adoption of toolkits for credit risk model development. The position involves building and improving Python-based platforms, contributing to the development of large libraries and testing frameworks, and ensuring efficient workflows and consistent implementation of risk models globally. You will also be responsible for optimizing model deployment processes and streamlining operations to reduce cost, time, and risk. Requirements:
Senior-level experience in building and testing Python applications in a professional environment. Previous experience leading development teams. Strong understanding of coding and code review best practices. Ability to write Pythonic code with a strong eye for code quality and efficiency. Proficient with Git version control and Agile development practices. Experience with CI/CD methodologies. Nice-to-Have Skills MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Operations Research, or related technical fields. Knowledge of risk analytics and financial modelling. Experience with scientific stack (NumPy, SciPy, pandas, polars, Matplotlib). Familiarity with Big Data tools such as PySpark. Experience working with Docker, Kubernetes, and Jenkins. Background in developing open-source tools or Python libraries. Daily tasks: - Contribute to the design and development of our credit risk modelling toolkit.

– Collaborate directly with end users to understand and implement requirements.
– Develop and maintain a large-scale Python library and robust testing suites.
– Lead and mentor a team of developers, managing project portfolios and deliverables.
– Engage with senior non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparency.
