Lead IPTL Software Engineer, Optical Systems

Salary: $155000 - 288000 per year Requirements: We need a bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline with 9 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with 7 years of relevant experience, or 13 years of directly relevant experience in place of a degree. We require 7 years of experience in embedded software development, system design, debugging, and integration for aerospace applications. We expect professional experience across the full system lifecycle, including requirements allocation and flowdown, design, development, testing, and sell-off. We look for experience using Agile methods, working with suppliers, and executing across cross-functional teams. We need prior experience in an IPT or lead capacity with accountability for technical, cost, and schedule performance. We require the ability to obtain a U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance. Preferred qualifications include an active U.S. security clearance, PMP or Agile/Scrum certification, and familiarity with RTOS platforms, simulators, embedded command and control, microcontrollers, telemetry systems, and BSP development. Responsibilities: We lead the Software IPT responsible for flight software and EGSE software development for space payload programs. We provide technical, cost, and schedule leadership throughout software development, integration, testing, and delivery. We coordinate closely with Program Management, Systems Engineering, Electronics, FPGA, Integration & Test, and other partner teams. We guide software planning, architecture, execution, and staffing for embedded, real-time, and test software efforts. We oversee software for payload command and telemetry, mode control, hardware interfaces, and EGSE/test automation. We ensure program deliverables are achieved through technical oversight, schedule control, cost tracking, and EVMS reporting where applicable. We manage technical risk and lead root cause and corrective action efforts for software and integration issues. We support software verification across SIL, HIL, bench, flatsat, and payload-level integration environments. We lead or contribute to technical reviews, Independent Review Teams, and Agile/Scrum activities as needed. We develop, customize, and maintain Board Support Packages, including bootloaders, device drivers, and operating systems, across multiple hardware platforms.
