Lead GNC Engineer

Salary: $198000 - 268000 per year Requirements: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or equivalent international qualifications relevant to the role A minimum of 14 years of related professional experience or a comparable blend of education and experience Over 5 years of experience in Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC) engineering Proficient in using Matlab/Simulink or MatrixX for system modeling Responsibilities: Define mission requirements for Guidance, Navigation and Control and ensure their traceability and quality from system level to component level Utilize multidisciplinary model data (aero, mass properties, propulsion) to develop and enhance a complex, nonlinear, six degrees of freedom simulation model Employ various programming languages such as C, C++, FORTRAN, and Python for the development, implementation, integration, and testing of vehicle models and controllers Design flight control laws utilizing modern linear control design methodologies and tools to meet design and performance objectives Apply advanced nonlinear analyses to evaluate and refine control law designs Conduct model validation against experimental data to enhance the accuracy of simulation environments Develop additional controllers, limiters, mode logic, and signal shaping to ensure performance is bounded within all areas of the flight envelope Collaborate with flight simulation and Vehicle Management Systems software engineers to integrate control laws into operational flight programs Facilitate flight simulations including desktop, software, and real-time simulations Assist in hardware-in-the-loop development and testing Contribute to planning and execution of flight testing Lead design reviews, analyses, simulations, and testing of components and systems to ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations Mentor and train other team members Technologies: Fortran Hardware Support Matlab Python Security More: At Cobalt Streamworks, we are dedicated to innovation and collaboration, with a commitment to creating an inclusive and respectful environment that promotes professional development.
