Lead AI Engineer

Salary: $217000 - 270000 per year Requirements: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or relevant fields plus a minimum of 4 years of experience in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, or a Masters degree in a related field with at least 2 years of relevant experience At least 4 years of programming experience in Python, Go, Scala, or Java 6 years of experience in deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or comparable private cloud) (preferred) Experience in designing, developing, and supporting AI services (preferred) Experience in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies (e.g., LLM Inference, Similarity Search and VectorDBs, Guardrails, Memory) with Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang (preferred) Experience in optimizing training and inference software for improved hardware utilization, latency, throughput, and costs (preferred) Strong interest in AI research and the ability to apply novel techniques in production environments (preferred) Responsibilities: Collaborate closely with a diverse team of engineers, researchers, technical program managers, and product managers to create AI-driven products that innovate how our associates work and how customers engage with Aperture Cloud. Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain AI software components, including foundation model training, large language model inference, similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability. Utilize a comprehensive range of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies, including AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, PyTorch, and others. Develop and introduce cutting-edge LLM optimization methods to enhance the performance of large-scale production AI systems in terms of scalability, cost, latency, and throughput. Contribute to the technical vision and strategic roadmap for foundational AI systems at Aperture Cloud.
