Lead Agentic AI Architect

Salary: $121,000 - 161,000 per year Requirements: 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years leading AI and agentic architecture or technical delivery across multiple teams, or equivalent demonstrated expertise. Experience deploying and operating multiple LLM or agentic applications in production, with strong skills in Python, APIs, distributed systems, RAG, and agent orchestration. Experience with cloud deployment, containers, CI/CD, evaluation, and observability; ability to explain trade-offs and influence technical and business stakeholders. Familiarity with AWS and Amazon Bedrock, including AgentCore; LangGraph, Stands, or comparable agent frameworks; MCP; semantic layers, ontologies, or knowledge graphs; insurance or other regulated data products; and AI-enabled SDLC practices. Responsibilities: Define portfolio reference architectures, reusable agent services, and engineering standards; select models, frameworks, and build-versus-buy approaches based on quality, cost, and business needs. Contribute production code, review designs and pull requests, resolve complex technical issues, and coach engineering teams through delivery and adoption. Build dependable workflows using tool calling, orchestration, context and memory, retries, execution limits, and human approvals; choose an appropriate level of automation or agent complexity for each problem. Connect enterprise knowledge through agentic systems, RAG, structured data access, and API or MCP integrations, with permission-aware retrieval and source traceability. Work with QA and domain experts to establish evaluation datasets, task-success measures, groundedness and tool-call accuracy checks, adversarial tests, and release acceptance criteria. Prepare solutions for production with CI/CD, versioning, monitoring, agent tracing, fallbacks, and rollback; track reliability, latency, and cost per successful task, and help resolve incidents. Apply security and governance controls, including least-privilege tool access, sensitive-data protection, prompt-injection defenses, auditability, and approvals. Introduce and govern AI-assisted engineering practices, such as coding agents, AI code review, and test generation, and measure their impact on delivery speed and quality. Prioritize use cases with Product, maintain the technical roadmap, and share reusable components and lessons across teams to improve delivery speed and customer value.
