Kafka SRE

We’re looking for a Kafka Platform Engineer to manage and ensure the operational excellence of Kafka clusters deployed on Kubernetes . You’ll be responsible for maintaining reliability, performance, and automation across global streaming infrastructure. This is a hands-on engineering role in a dynamic, collaborative global team. Requirements:
Strong technical knowledge of Kafka architecture and data streaming ecosystems. Hands-on experience operating Kafka in containerized environments (Kubernetes) . Proficiency in automation and Infrastructure as Code principles. Familiarity with tooling: GitHub, Jenkins, JIRA, Confluence . Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively with engineers and technical stakeholders . Nice to have: Experience with Confluent Kafka and other messaging technologies. Previous work in enterprise-scale or global infrastructure teams . Must have: Kafka, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, GitHub, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence
Daily tasks: - Operate and administer Kafka clusters end-to-end (brokers, Zookeeper/KRaft, Kafka Connect, Schema Registry).
– Deploy and maintain Kafka components and connectors (MQ, Splunk, MongoDB, GCP Pub/Sub).
– Implement monitoring and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk.
– Troubleshoot, benchmark, and optimize Kafka performance and scalability.
– Automate operational tasks using Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines.
– Lead incident root cause analysis and drive preventive improvements.
– Collaborate with globally distributed teams and align activities across time zones.
