About the role
We are looking for a hands-on and business-savvy technical leader to join our Data & AI Practice as a Solution Engineer / Pre-Sales Manager / Technical Advisor. This role sits at the intersection of technology, business consulting, and solution architecture helping clients modernize their data platforms, unlock AI potential, and achieve measurable business outcomes. You will be responsible for owning the end-to-end pre-sales and solutioning process from opportunity qualification through solution design, estimation, proposal creation, and transition to delivery. This position is ideal for a senior data professional with a blend of technical depth, consultative selling skills, and commercial awareness. Locations: Europe Requirements: Technical Competencies 7+ years of experience in data-related roles (Data Engineer, Solution Architect, or Pre-Sales Engineer) within IT consulting, SI, or cloud technology environments. Strong hands-on understanding of modern data platforms: Databricks (Delta Lake, Spark, MLflow) Snowflake (architecture, performance optimization, cost control) Proficiency with Azure and/or AWS cloud data services (Synapse, Redshift, S3, Data Factory, Glue, etc.). Competence in at least one programming or scripting language (Python, SQL, Java, or similar). Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and security frameworks. Understanding of how AI and ML can enhance data-driven solutions (e.g., predictive analytics, intelligent automation). Business & Consulting Skills Proven experience building and presenting business cases, including ROI, TCO, and payback period analysis. Strong understanding of IT consulting project delivery models (fixed price, T&M, managed services). Excellent communication and presentation skills for executive and technical audiences. Track record of supporting sales and pre-sales teams through solutioning, estimation, and proposal development. Experience leading or co-leading client workshops, discovery sessions, or design sprints. Soft Skills Strong consultative mindset able to balance business strategy with technical feasibility. Excellent English communication (technical and business); Spanish fluency is a significant advantage. Self-starter with high degree of accountability and attention to detail. Comfortable working in a matrixed organization and coordinating with global teams. Strong documentation and storytelling skills in PowerPoint (PPTX) and Word. Preferred Qualifications Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Certifications (any of the following are advantageous): Databricks Certified Data Engineer / Architect Snowflake SnowPro Core or Advanced Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Data Engineer Associate AWS Certified Data Analytics / Solution Architect AI/ML or Data Science certifications Key Responsibilities: 1. Opportunity & Solution Ownership Lead the end-to-end pre-sales process for data and AI-related opportunities from initial business requirement clarification to final proposal submission. Collaborate with Business Development Representatives (BDRs), Sales Executives, and Account Managers to qualify opportunities and shape the solution narrative early. Translate client challenges into actionable data platform, analytics, and AI strategies. Ensure technical and commercial proposals are aligned with delivery capabilities and profitability targets. 2. Solution Architecture & Design Define high-level solution architectures using modern data and cloud platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, and AWS. Design data modernization roadmaps, including ingestion, transformation, governance, and visualization components. Provide technical advisory on platform selection, architecture trade-offs, and best practices for data engineering, analytics, and AI adoption. Incorporate AI accelerators and automation frameworks into data solution offerings. 3. Estimation, SOW, and Financial Modeling Develop project estimations, resource models, and timelines, ensuring accurate and realistic proposals. Prepare and validate Statements of Work (SOWs) and commercial proposals. Calculate and communicate ROI, TCO, and P&L impact for proposed solutions, supporting clients business justification and investment decisions. 4. Client Engagement & Pre-Sales Enablement Support the sales cycle by participating in client meetings, workshops, ideation sessions, and executive presentations. Conduct discovery workshops and technical deep-dives to align proposed solutions with client strategy. Act as a trusted advisor for C-level, business, and IT stakeholders. Develop and maintain pre-sales assets presentations, one-pagers, reference architectures, and case studies. 5. Practice Development & Collaboration Collaborate with delivery and CoE (Center of Excellence) teams to ensure feasibility and scalability of proposed solutions.
