Java Backend Developer

Salary: $89,500 - 117,500 per year Requirements: Strong knowledge of US banking and financial services, including payment regulations, transaction processing, risk controls, and customer-facing banking applications Proficiency in Core Java, including Java 8, 11, or 17, and Spring Boot Experience with microservices, REST APIs, and event-driven messaging technologies such as Kafka or JMS Familiarity with ACH, Fedwire, RTP, SWIFT, and card payment processing Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL, as well as Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and Git Knowledge of payment security standards and technologies, including PCI DSS, OAuth2, JWT, SSL/TLS, and data encryption Responsibilities: Design, develop, and support enterprise-grade applications using Core Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and REST APIs Build and improve high-volume US payment platforms that support critical banking transactions Develop payment solutions for ACH, Fedwire, RTP, SWIFT, and card processing Partner with business, operations, and compliance teams to align solutions with US banking regulations and standards Create scalable, secure, highly available backend services for large transaction volumes Integrate payment applications with core banking systems, payment gateways, and third-party financial institutions Develop and optimize database solutions Support payment lifecycle processes, including authorization, clearing, settlement, reconciliation, and exception handling Participate in architecture and code reviews, and contribute to performance optimization Troubleshoot critical production payment issues and help maintain service-level commitments Contribute to Agile Scrum planning, estimation, and release activities Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership on complex banking payment initiatives Technologies: Backend Docker Git Support JWT Java Jenkins Kafka Kubernetes Oracle PostgreSQL REST SQL Security Spring Spring Boot Swift microservices Rails More: We are hiring a Senior Java Backend Developer for our US banking payments work in Charlotte, North Carolina.
