Infrastructure Software Engineer Metadata Core

This is a remote position. We are looking for an Infrastructure Software Engineer to join a team responsible for building and operating large-scale distributed database and storage infrastructure. The role focuses on designing low-latency, highly available, and strongly consistent systems , working with replication, partitioning, consensus mechanisms, caching, and fault tolerance. The engineer will develop performance-critical solutions using Go, Rust, or C++ , troubleshoot complex production issues, and contribute to the scalability, reliability, and long-term evolution of distributed data platforms. Responsibilities Design and maintain distributed database systems Build low latency and strongly consistent data infrastructure Design and optimise replication mechanisms Work with consensus and coordination mechanisms Develop caching solutions Improve availability and performance Maintain data durability Develop performance critical systems in Go and Rust Operate production systems Troubleshoot complex production issues Participate in system design reviews Participate in postmortems and reliability improvements Work with infrastructure and product engineering teams Support development of the longer term infrastructure roadmap Requirements Minimum 5 years professional software engineering experience Strong distributed systems fundamentals Replication Consistency Partitioning Fault tolerance Experience building database platforms, distributed databases, storage systems or large scale database infrastructure Go, Rust, C++ or similar systems programming language Production systems experience Strong debugging skills Strong performance analysis skills Raft, Paxos, ZooKeeper, etcd Benefits Fully remote working model Solid, competitive salary Work in a multinational environment on international projects Comprehensive healthcare Long-term B2B contract with a stable project pipeline Originally posted on Himalayas
