Infrastructure Engineer, Data Protection

Salary: $93,770 - 179,240 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree, or 4 years of relevant education and/or experience. We need 4 years of infrastructure experience with strong technical depth in one or more disciplines or technologies, or comparable IT experience such as IT management, software development, data engineering, or Agile product/release management. We require 2 years of experience developing, deploying, and maintaining large-scale backup and recovery solutions. We expect a proficient understanding of business operations, risk management, industry practices, and emerging trends. We need knowledge of scalable IT infrastructure design, system change implementation, and automation of service delivery and maintenance tasks. We expect a basic understanding of cloud technologies and tools. We require demonstrated experience with image-based backup solutions, virtualized infrastructure, database backups, and disaster recovery. We value experience in large-scale backup and recovery environments. We value experience implementing cyber recovery solutions that can detect and respond to threats and restore operations quickly. We value experience developing and maintaining automated restore orchestration. We value experience working in highly regulated environments with strict operational control standards focused on business continuity, data integrity, and privacy. We value Rubrik certifications such as Rubrik Certified System Administrator and Rubrik Certified Cloud Specialist. We value automation experience with Ansible. We value US military experience gained through service or as a military spouse/domestic partner. Responsibilities: We participate in data protection transformation efforts centered on simplification, standardization, resilience, and operational efficiency, while developing engineering standards, implementation plans, and technical documentation. We deploy and maintain data protection solutions for virtual hosts, SQL, NoSQL, DB2, Oracle distributed workloads, cloud workloads in Azure and AWS, SaaS platforms, and Active Directory. We support critical operational automation by developing Infrastructure-as-Code solutions, automated workflows, and process improvements that streamline operations and improve deployment consistency. We maintain focus on regulatory compliance, business continuity, cyber resilience, and the integrity and immutability of data. We design scalable IT infrastructure under limited supervision, implement system changes consistently, and automate service delivery and maintenance tasks. We build monitoring and tooling for systems. We independently troubleshoot and resolve complex production technology issues. We identify improvement opportunities and recommend solutions to management. We analyze complex outages and determine opportunities to strengthen systems. We apply engineering best practices, concepts, and patterns consistently. We work to understand customer needs and help identify solutions with some support. We evaluate potential technology solutions with oversight. We mentor junior engineers and may also mentor peer engineers. We develop software-defined infrastructure in code within CI/CD pipelines. We ensure business risks are identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in line with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
