Salary: $150,000 - 200,000 per year Requirements: 5+ years of cybersecurity experience Experience with NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, and security control lifecycles Demonstrated experience supporting government agencies, customers, or contracts in federal environments, including the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, federal civilian agencies, or military organizations; experience on the same or a similar contract is highly desirable Security+ certification (DoD 8570 IAT Level II) CISSP or a similar certification within six months of hire CSM certification Bachelors degree preferred Active TS/SCI clearance U.S. citizenship Preferred: RMF and A&A experience in federal environments; experience supporting classified systems; familiarity with GRC tools, Splunk, ServiceNow, or related platforms; Department of State cybersecurity experience Responsibilities: Perform ISSO functions for assigned COMSEC systems Support Risk Management Framework activities Develop and maintain security documentation Support Assessment and Authorization packages Maintain System Security Plans and supporting artifacts Manage and track Plans of Action and Milestones Support continuous monitoring and security-control assessments Evaluate the implementation of NIST 800-53 security controls Support vulnerability-management activities Coordinate security findings and remediation actions Maintain authorization evidence and compliance documentation Support security reviews and system changes Coordinate with government security organizations and technical teams Support FedRAMP-related requirements where applicable Assist with security risk assessments and corrective-action planning Technologies: Support LESS Security ServiceNow Splunk More: We are partnering with hackajob to recruit an Information Systems Security Officer for TekSynaps Department of State COMSEC IT Services contract. The role supports cybersecurity, RMF, Assessment and Authorization, continuous monitoring, and security controls for COMSEC information systems. This position supports an upcoming government contract proposal and is contingent on contract award and government approval; a Letter of Commitment may be required. The role is based in Springfield, Virginia, in a hybrid environment, with a Monday–Friday day-shift schedule, occasional evening or weekend work as program needs require, and less than 10% travel. The target salary range is $150,000–$200,000, with final compensation based on individual qualifications and contract and organizational factors.
