Information Security Systems Engineer

Salary: $106000 - 154000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree plus at least 12 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree plus at least 10 years of related experience; without a degree, we require at least 16 years of comparable experience. We prefer prior ISSE, ISSM, or ISSO experience. We prefer experience in FAA environments or DoD information systems. We prefer 7 years of experience designing, implementing, and running security controls for cloud-hosted applications or infrastructure. We prefer 5 years of experience managing security architectures for cloud applications hosted by providers such as AWS or Azure. We prefer 5 years of experience applying and complying with customer-tailored NIST controls and policies across cloud service models such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS. We value a strong working knowledge of RMF, NIST, FISMA, and FIPS. We prefer experience supporting bid and proposal development for government contracts with security requirements. We prefer familiarity with LAN and WAN technologies and industry best practices. We prefer working knowledge of Microsoft Windows client and server operating systems, Linux, and system virtualization in a secure network setting. We prefer experience with compliance and vulnerability scanning tools such as Nessus and Splunk. We prefer CCSP, CISSP, or CISM certification. We value excellent verbal and written communication skills. We prefer participation in cloud security committees, panels, or professional associations. We prefer experience publishing technical papers or articles on cloud security topics. We require the ability to obtain an FAA Public Trust or DoD clearance. Responsibilities: We create, implement, and commission cloud-ready and on-premises security platforms across environments such as PaaS, IaaS, SaaS, and SECaaS to satisfy U.S. government customer requirements for both existing systems and new business. We lead information security engineering efforts across the enterprise, including CDRL documentation, trade studies, security control analysis, secure architecture design, control compliance, design reviews, and security testing and verification. We provide strategic direction and innovative cloud-capable solutions that support growth, sustainment, performance, reputation, and market share for emerging business areas. We guide the development of documentation and procedures that support government audit and authorization of cloud security architectures aligned to tailored NIST control requirements. We assess security requirements for proposals such as RFPs and RFIs, work with Strategy & Business Development and Engineering to embed security into proposal solutions, and write security content for technical volumes. We support research and development efforts that help expand the business.
