Top 3 Reasons To Join Us The Job Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Industrial Data Systems Engineer to help design and build software and data infrastructure supporting advanced manufacturing and industrial process development initiatives. In this role, you will develop systems that collect, organize, store, and process operational and machine-related data from industrial environments. Working alongside AI/ML engineers and manufacturing specialists, you will help create reliable data infrastructure and backend systems that support analytics, process optimization, and AI-driven applications. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on practical implementation, system reliability, and scalable industrial software architecture. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain backend systems supporting industrial and manufacturing data collection Develop data ingestion pipelines for machine, sensor, and operational data Build and manage databases for structured and unstructured manufacturing-related data Develop APIs and services supporting downstream analytics and AI/ML applications Support integration with industrial equipment, controllers, sensors, and external systems where required Assist with deployment and maintenance of on-premise, edge, and cloud-connected infrastructure environments Collaborate with AI/ML engineers to support model training, inference, and operational deployment requirements Monitor and improve system reliability, data consistency, and overall platform performance Document system architectures, workflows, and technical configurations Participate in experimentation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities Your Skills and Experience Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Informations Systems, or a related technical field 5+ years of relevant professional experience in software engineering, backend systems, industrial software, or data engineering Strong experience with backend software development and API design Experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) Experience building data pipelines and data integration sytems Proficiency in Python and/or other backend-oriented programming languages Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional engineering teams Strong problem-solving capability skills and systems-thinking cpapability Strong written and verbal communication skills in English Preferred Qualifications Experience with industrial or manufacturing-related software systems Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as OPC UA, MQTT, or Modbus Experience with Docker, Docker Compose, Linux, or containerized environments Familiarity with cloud, edge, or on-premise infrastructure deployment Experience supporting AI/ML or analytics systems Experience with time-series databases or high-volume data processing systems Experience with GitHub-based development workflows Experience working in international or cross-functional engineering teams Experience using the Rust programming language for low (hardware) level data collection and manipulation operations Technical Skills Summary LANGUAGES Python (primary), SQL, JavaScript/TypeScript (basic), Go or Rust is a plus DATABASES PostgreSQL, SQL schema design, time-series databases BACKEND & DATA SYSTEMS API development, data pipelines, system integrations, backend services INFRASTRUCTURE Docker, Docker Compose, Linux, edge/on-premise deployment environments INDUSTRIAL DATA PLC communication protocols (OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus), sensor data acquisition pipelines DEVELOPMENT TOOLS GitHub, version control workflows, CI/CD familiarity Soft Skills Intellectual curiosity and eagerness to learn industrial and manufacturing processes Ability to work independently within evolving technical environments Self-motivated with ability to work independently and manage priorities Collaborative mindset and comfort working in small, cross-functional engineering teams Attention to detail and commitment to reproducible, well-documented work Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related STEM field Preferred: Relevant industrial systems, infrastructure, or backend engineering experience Relevant bootcamp certificates, portfolio projects, open-source contributions, or demonstrated production systems experience are valued Why You'll Love Working Here 13th month salary 18 days of paid time off per year.
