Home Assistant Python Developer for Hardware

📋 Description Own integrations across Home Assistant, ESPHome, and Open Home ecosystems. Build and maintain Python integrations and proxy libraries for Home Assistant and ESPHome. Write Python software that interfaces with device protocols and hardware peripherals. Collaborate with Embedded Linux and Hardware teams to translate hardware capabilities into software. Contribute to Home Assistant core, ESPHome, and related projects for integrations/config flows/entity models. Own code quality by writing well-tested, maintainable Python code. 🎯 Requirements Strong Python development experience, async/await, testing, and type annotations. Meaningful experience contributing to large open-source projects, including PRs and code review. Experience building integrations, APIs, automation systems, or device software for connected devices. Comfortable across software/hardware boundaries, understanding device protocols and hardware concepts. Familiarity with Bluetooth, Zigbee, USB, UART, mDNS, SPI, I2C, MQTT, or similar protocols. Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar systems and navigate large codebases; strong debugging mindset.
