Head of International Security

📋 Description Drive execution of Scale's secure-by-default roadmap for non-US markets. Translate GDPR, ISO27001/27017/27018, SOC 2, UK Cyber Essentials Plus, EU AI Act, NIS2 into controls. Track regional security metrics and represent international priorities. Lead regional security engineering: IAM, RBAC, secrets, CI/CD hardening, encryption. Ensure in-region telemetry, cross-border data flow controls, and data localisation. Stand up high-fidelity detection and response meeting local timelines. Drive risk reduction via platform-level controls with the global team. Protect data, AI assets across regional deployments with in-region processing and KMS. Enforce multi-tenant isolation and privilege lifecycle across regions. Address AI-specific risks: prompt injection, data exfiltration, model integrity. Champion secure SDLC practices, threat modeling, and code reviews. 🎯 Requirements 8+ years in cybersecurity with 4+ years leading engineers. Proven track record building and scaling security programs. Deep cloud-native security skills (AWS / GCP / Azure), IAM / Zero Trust, logging/monitoring, secure SDLC. Hands-on familiarity with GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2, UK Cyber Essentials Plus, NIS2, EU AI Act. Experience managing insider risk and securing third-party/user populations. Ability to work cross-functionally with Eng, Product, Legal, Compliance, Sales, and Public Sector. Right to work in the UK; willing to travel for customer engagements. Degree required.
