Hardware Engineer - Liquid Cooling

Salary: $120,000 - 242,000 per year Requirements: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. At least 4 years of professional experience in hardware, infrastructure, thermal, or platform engineering in data center, cloud, or high-performance computing environments. Strong understanding of data center thermal design, coolant types, heat-transfer mechanisms, and leak detection. In-depth knowledge of server hardware, components, and fleet-management technologies. Proficiency in Python or Ansible and experience interacting programmatically with hardware through Redfish, IPMI, or SSH; Redfish is preferred. Experience supporting production infrastructure, managing incident escalations through root-cause resolution, and participating in on-call rotations. Strong technical documentation, analytical problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills. Preferred: Hands-on experience with in-rack coolant distribution units (CDUs), liquid-to-air heat exchangers, or remote cooling units. Preferred: Experience launching data center regions or deploying liquid-cooling infrastructure at scale. Preferred: Familiarity with rack-scale liquid-cooled platforms such as NVIDIA GB200 or GB300, and CDU vendor-management interfaces. Preferred: Experience with BMC technologies, Kubernetes-based services, and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana. Preferred: Familiarity with facility systems such as chilled-water plants, CRAHs, and building management systems (BMS). This position requires access to export-controlled information. Responsibilities: Design, deploy, automate, and operate liquid-cooling infrastructure supporting high-density GPU platforms. Manage liquid-cooling infrastructure across the rack-to-facility interface, combining hands-on engineering with operational support. Automate the liquid-cooling hardware lifecycle and develop hardware and firmware management services. Build monitoring, alerting, and control systems for pumps, valves, and flow and temperature sensors. Work with data center facilities teams, server OEMs, and cooling vendors to qualify platforms and resolve RMA and quality issues. Troubleshoot production thermal events through to root cause and serve as an escalation point for liquid-cooling and thermal issues across our deployments. Participate in an on-call rotation and use operational insights to improve platform automation and design. The base salary range is $120,000–$242,000, with the starting amount determined by job-related qualifications, experience, interview performance, and location.
