Salary: $95000 - 131000 per year Requirements: Strong background in mechanical engineering Proficiency in materials and manufacturing processes Experience with CAD modeling and structural analysis Familiarity with performance, safety, and regulatory standards Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams Strong communication and leadership skills Understanding of DFMEA and DVP processes Knowledge of cost and weight optimization techniques Experience interfacing with suppliers and internal teams Capability to manage project timelines and deliverables High level competency in component level regulatory compliance requirements Familiarity with vehicle assembly plants and manufacturing builds Experience in direct supplier collaboration and oversight Responsibilities: Design and develop body closure systems from concept to production Create and refine CAD models, and conduct structural analysis Collaborate with CAE teams for virtual testing and validation Select materials to optimize strength, weight, and cost Coordinate with various teams to ensure seamless integration Identify opportunities for reducing weight and costs without compromising quality Author and manage Performance Specifications and Design Validation Test Plans Review and approve suppliers Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis Implement lessons learned from previous product development Monitor timelines and deliverables across multiple Program Teams Interface with engineering teams for system functional requirements Support quality initiatives and warranty targets Communicate product development status regularly through updates and presentations Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements through collaboration with suppliers Harmonize designs and documentation with global team members Guide suppliers in the development and testing of components Technologies: Support Hardware More: We are seeking a Design and Release Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and releasing body closure systems such as side doors, hoods, and tailgates.
