FINANCIAL OPERATIONS MANAGER, APAC
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Operations, this role will lead Financial Operations for APAC and play a critical role in scaling Halcyon Labs’s global FinOps function. This is a people-manager role and based in Malaysia.
You will lead a sizeable APAC-based team and be responsible for strengthening team structure, clarifying ownership, building team leads over time, and improving execution across core Financial Operations workflows. You will work closely with cross-functional partners including CS Ops, Product, Engineering and Finance to ensure smooth and scalable execution of the customer transaction lifecycle.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who combines strong people management, deep payments or banking operations experience, and a data-driven mindset. The right candidate will be comfortable leading through change, improving controls and service quality, and using automation and AI tools to modernize operations.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
– Lead and develop the APAC Financial Operations team, building clear ownership, a strong management rhythm, and a scalable team structure.
– Own end-to-end execution across key Financial Operations workflows, including transaction lifecycle monitoring, payment operations, exception handling, and operational escalations.
– Support safeguarding and day-to-day fund operations across multiple Halcyon Labs entities, including deposit, payout, adjustment, and operational fund-risk controls.
– Drive operational excellence through stronger controls, service levels, quality assurance, and performance management across APAC Financial Operations.
– Partner with Product and Engineering to reduce manual work, improve tooling, and deliver automation that improves scale, efficiency, and risk management.
– Lead and build data-driven metrics, dashboards, SOPs, and training materials to improve decision-making, reduce key-person risk, and strengthen business continuity.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
– Bachelor’s degree or above, with typically 5-7 years of experience in fintech, payments, banking operations, treasury operations, financial operations, or a closely related domain.
– Proven people-management experience is required, ideally with at least 2+ years leading operations teams in a fast-paced fintech, banking, or operations environment.
– Strong understanding of payment operations, transaction lifecycle management, exception handling, reconciliation, safeguarding, liquidity flows, and related operational controls.
– Demonstrated ability to build team structure, identify team leads, and improve ownership, succession planning, and business continuity.
– Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-changing environment.
– Strong data capability is required, including SQL; experience with Python, AI tools, and visualization or workflow tooling is a plus.
