Fighter Software Engineering Manager

Salary: $168000 - 227000 per year Requirements: We require the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance after starting. We require at least one year of leadership experience, such as team leadership, interim management, large cross-functional project or program leadership, or formal management experience; alternatively, completion of our internal Exploring Leadership course is acceptable. We prefer a bachelors degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science from an accredited program. We prefer three or more years of leadership experience. We prefer experience with mission systems products. We prefer experience leading teams, ideally software teams. We prefer working knowledge of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). We prefer experience with Earned Value Management. We require U.S. Person status for export control compliance. We require the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance, with interim and/or final Secret clearance post-start. We do not offer visa sponsorship. Responsibilities: We lead a team of mission systems software engineers developing real-time embedded software for a Fighters platform in an agile, collaborative setting. We oversee software that supports fighters mission system capabilities. We act as a business owner on one of the programs agile release trains. We work closely with Program Management to execute on our contracts and maintain frequent customer contact. We foster collaboration and knowledge sharing between our St. Louis and Daytona Beach teams to support successful delivery from this location. We develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, and establish operational objectives. We secure resources for projects and processes, provide technical supplier management, and drive process improvements. We build and maintain relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and team members. We guide and approve technical approaches, products, and processes. We hire, manage, develop, and motivate employees. We manage engineers and technical staff within software engineering. We operate within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment. We coordinate work across teams within the Agile Release Train and other Solution Train ARTs. We coordinate work across unclassified and collateral secret areas to deliver complete solutions for the warfighter. We fulfill Cost Account Manager duties as appropriate for Earned Value Management tracking. We present software status to Halcyon Labs Program Management and Navy customers and support contract management.
