Field Service Engineer - Japan

Job Description What You'll Do As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, optimization, and troubleshooting of TOMRA sorting systems across Japan. Your key responsibilities will include: Commissioning, testing, integration, and start-up of TOMRA sorting equipment Performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and technical upgrades Diagnosing and resolving electrical, mechanical, and system-related issues Providing on-site and remote technical support to customers Optimizing machine performance and maximizing equipment uptime Delivering customer training for operators and maintenance teams Preparing detailed service reports and technical documentation Supporting Sales and Project Management teams with technical expertise Participating in on-call support activities when required Sharing field feedback and improvement opportunities with internal teams Qualifications What We're Looking For Experience & Qualifications Degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering Experience in Field Service, Industrial Maintenance, Automation, Commissioning, or similar technical environments Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and manage technical issues in the field Experience working directly with customers in industrial environments Skills & Competencies Strong communication and interpersonal skills Customer-focused and service-oriented mindset Excellent analytical and diagnostic abilities Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure Strong organizational and reporting skills Comfortable working in multicultural and international environments Language Requirements Japanese: Business-level proficiency English: Professional working proficiency Additional Requirements Willingness to travel extensively throughout Japan Ability to travel internationally on occasion when required Valid driver's license Company Description Join TOMRA Recycling and help drive the circular economy At TOMRA Recycling, we develop industry-leading sensor-based sorting solutions that enable smarter resource recovery and a more sustainable future.
