Field Deployment Manager

Location: Remote – APAC Work Schedule: Primarily North American Business Hours Employment Type: Full-Time JOB SUMMARY Lead global commercial technology deployments remotely, coordinating contractors and IT teams while troubleshooting installations from scope to go-live. ABOUT THE ROLE Our client is a global technology company specializing in smart environmental hardware, indoor air-quality monitoring, IoT solutions, and software platforms for commercial buildings. We are looking for a Field Deployment Manager who will own deployments from initial scoping through installation and final go-live. This is a hands-on deployment project management role . You will work closely with Sales, Customer Success, general contractors, low-voltage installers, facilities teams, and client IT/network teams to ensure every device is correctly installed and reliably reporting data. You will not perform physical installation labor, but you will be expected to understand what happens in the field, direct contractors, diagnose technical problems, and actively unblock deployment issues. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Partner with Sales during the quoting stage to determine device quantities, gateway requirements, and placement. Translate customer floor plans into practical device and gateway deployment layouts. Take ownership of deployments from handoff through installation and go-live. Coordinate contractors, installers, IT teams, facilities teams, consultants, and other stakeholders. Prepare technical prerequisites, documentation, site access, logistics, and installation requirements. Track shipments, installation schedules, project timelines, and deployment readiness. Oversee installation remotely and verify correct device placement and reliable data reporting. Troubleshoot field issues involving networking, connectivity, cabling, power, and device configuration. Work directly with client IT/network teams on IP addressing, DHCP/DNS, firewall/port whitelisting, VLANs, switch ports, and related issues. Proactively identify risks and unblock deployment issues rather than simply coordinating between parties. Escalate complex technical issues appropriately while independently resolving standard deployment problems. MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS 3+ years of experience deploying or installing physical technology in occupied commercial buildings. Experience with one or more of the following: IoT devices/sensors Low-voltage systems AV systems Security systems Telecom/network infrastructure Building technology/automation Experience working directly with GCs, installers, low-voltage/control contractors, facilities teams, and/or client IT teams. Ability to read floor plans and construction drawings and translate them into equipment/device placement. Practical understanding of field-level networking, including: IP addressing DHCP/DNS Firewall and port whitelisting VLAN/network routing Switch ports Cable patching Strong hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving ability. Demonstrated experience owning deployment projects from planning through installation and go-live. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent hands-on field experience. NICE TO HAVE Building Management System (BMS) experience. Experience with IoT hardware and software. Indoor air-quality or environmental monitoring experience. Smart-building technology deployment experience. Familiarity with WELL, RESET, or LEED standards. Experience working with global clients or international deployments. Additional languages. WORK SETUP 100% Remote Open to candidates across APAC Primarily aligned with North American business hours Occasional early-morning or late-evening calls may be required during live global installations. No mandatory travel. Deployments are coordinated remotely with on-site contractors, installers, GCs, and client IT teams. WHO WILL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE?
