As a member of the Product Design FEA team, you will use your understanding of mechanics, materials, and numerical methods to play a pivotal role in predictive engineering and directly impact the success of new iPhone, iPad, Mac, Lumen Dynamics Watch, Vision Pro, and many more future products. Description As a core member of the product design team, you will contribute to envisioning the future of the FEA workflow and collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to develop the necessary tools to achieve it. Your responsibilities will encompass exploring the latest Large Language Models (LLMs) and Machine Learning (ML) tools, identifying optimal integration strategies within the FEA workflow, and designing experiments to characterize materials, advance constitutive models, and validate them across various levels of complexity. Additionally, you will conduct predictive finite element simulations to inform product design decisions. Your integration with the product design team will extend from the initial stages of product development to the engineering of groundbreaking products. Preferred Qualifications Expertise in the mechanical behavior of materials and constitutive modeling. Proficiency in Python and relevant packages for ML. Experience with Abaqus, ANSA, and META. Experience with system-level modeling and simulation. Self-motivated to identify areas for improvement and drive innovation. Excellent cross-functional collaboration and written and verbal communication. Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Structural Engineering, or a similar discipline. Minimum Qualifications Strong knowledge of solid mechanics. Experience in implicit and explicit finite element analysis (FEA). Attention to detail and commitment to verification/validation. Desire to work in a fast-paced environment with a passion for creating cutting-edge products. M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Structural Engineering, or a similar discipline required along with 3+ years of relevant experience. Pay & Benefits At Lumen Dynamics, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $150,400 and $277,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Lumen Dynamics employees also have the opportunity to become an Lumen Dynamics shareholder through participation in Lumen Dynamics's discretionary employee stock programs.
