About the role

Ensure the stability and efficient operation of infrastructure systems that support core organizational functions.

**This position will be working Thursday to Saturday 12pm-12am As a Systems Engineer you will ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of infrastructure systems that support our core organizational functions and customers. You will achieve this by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all infrastructure components assigned. You will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems. What you will do: Management, maintenance, and operation of storage, virtualized environments, servers, and productivity tools Monitor infrastructure components for performance, capacity, failures, and uptime Perform storage and server implementation and maintenance including software and firmware Maintain and administer multi-site high availability solutions including clusters and replication Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure related issues including hardware, software, and network Work within strict time frames following change management protocols to provide maximum uptime Implement, review, and adhere to security policies along with working with audit teams Research and remediate system vulnerabilities Interact and coordinate with architects, vendors, hardware engineers, operating system engineers, and internal business partners Professionally represent the infrastructure team as a technical consultant on projects Maintain documentation of all infrastructure related components including build and modifications Maintain a solid working knowledge of current infrastructure and future trends Participate in on-call rotation providing “Always On” support What you will need: Requires a minimum of 7 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent work experience Requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience in VMware, ESXi, Linux and Microsoft environments Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment Ability to work on multiple moderate to highly complex assignments utilizing collaboration tools What will set you apart: VMware: 3+ years hands on administration of VMware environments, including vRealize Automation and Operations Knowledge in Security compliance including PCI, SOX Knowledge in configuring and administrating high availability clusters, and disaster recovery implementations Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory Knowledge of Entrust SSL Cert process Knowledge in coding tools and languages PERL, Python, C, C++, ServiceNow, REST API, MySQL, PowerShell, Ansible, Chef, JSON Knowledge of project management collaboration tools and processes including Service Now, Confluence, Sharepoint and JIRA Knowledge in Cloudera Hadoop, AWS, GCP Experience with operating systems including vSphere, ESXi, OEL (Oracle Enterprise Linux) and/or CentOS Linux, and Microsoft OS Platform / Preferred Certifications: VMware: Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV) Linux Certified Microsoft Certified AWS and/or GCP Certified ITIL Foundations Certified CISSP Certified Primary Locations: Homebased - Mexico City Additional Locations (if applicable): Originally posted on Himalayas
