Engineering Manager

NextLab is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing software engineering team in delivering enterprise-grade products. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing software development activities, driving technical excellence, mentoring engineers, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions. Key Responsibilities: Lead, mentor, and develop a software engineering team. Manage the full software development lifecycle, from design through deployment. Collaborate with Product Management, QA, and global engineering teams to deliver product roadmap objectives. Drive architecture, technology selection, and engineering best practices. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality. Improve engineering processes, productivity, and software quality standards. Identify and resolve technical, operational, and project risks. Work closely with global teams across different regions to support product development and releases. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Minimum 8 years of software development experience with 3 years in engineering leadership or people management. Strong hands-on experience in Java/J2EE development and software architecture. Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Design, software development methodologies, and Agile practices. Experience with enterprise applications and cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure. Working experience with enterprise applications such as ERP, PLM, CRM, and SCM. Familiar with Operating System, Compiler, or Runtime technology. Understanding of enterprise directory deployment scenarios (Active Directory, LDAP, or ADSI) and directory schema extensions is a plus but not required. Must have a good knowledge of internet technologies (XML, Web Services, SOA, etc.) and familiarity with agile development principles. Experience in working with build and release environment (perforce, Ant, Maven, etc) and test automation frameworks such as (STAF, Junit, Grinder, Open STA, etc.). Strong knowledge of database design and application development. Experience managing distributed or global engineering teams. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Skills: Experience in Identity & Access Management (IAM), Digital Rights Management (DRM), Information Security, or Enterprise Software solutions.
