Job Title: Wire Harness Design & Development Engineer – UAV Systems
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Wire Harness Engineer with expertise in the design, development, and validation of electrical wiring systems for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with CATIA V6 (or later) and be capable of independently developing complete harness designs from concept to flight-ready implementation. The role requires system-level understanding of avionics, propulsion, communication, and payload interfaces within UAV architectures.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Design and develop end-to-end electrical wire harnesses for Test bench setups, System integration testing, UAV systems and any other related systems from concept to implementation.
Coordinate system integration, manufacturing, testing and installation of harnesses across the systems related to UAV.
Prepare and maintain harness documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and configuration records.
Support troubleshooting, failure analysis, and issue resolution during integration and testing phases.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless electrical and mechanical integration.
Contribute to design reviews, Testing, quality inspections, and certification activities for UAV electrical systems.
Desired Skills:
Expertise in Developing 2D board Drawings and developing 3D wire harness routing using CATIA Electrical V6 or later (Must have).
Expertise on wire and connector selection as per requirements from cross functional teams.
Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring standards, and aerospace harness design principles.
Knowledge of EMI/EMC practices, connector selection, and wire gauge/current capacity considerations.
Experience with system integration, validation, and electrical testing (continuity, insulation, HV tests).
Additional Skills:
Hands-on experience with connector selection (MIL-DTL, D38999 series), crimping, and harness assembly.
Familiarity with electrical standards (AS50881, IPC/WHMA-A-620, DO-160, MIL-STD-810).
Required Qualifications:
B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical and Electronics or related fields.
2+ years of hands-on experience in wire harness design and integration (preferably in aerospace, UAV, or automotive domain).
