Embedded Systems Engineer

Salary: $122000 - 148000 per year Requirements: We require a Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. We seek 5–10 years of experience designing and developing embedded electronic systems. We need strong hands-on experience with microcontroller-based systems, including ARM platforms such as STM32, NXP, Silicon Labs, AVR, DSP, and PIC devices. We expect proficiency in embedded C/C++ programming, low-level firmware development, and firmware verification, analysis, and optimization for microcontroller-based products. We require experience building bare-metal or RTOS-based firmware. We look for experience with BLE and Bluetooth-based IoT communication protocols. We value knowledge of IoT connectivity technologies such as Wi-Fi, Zigbee, and 4G/5G cellular. We require experience developing firmware for low-power, battery-powered systems, including power consumption analysis. We need a solid understanding of digital, analog, and mixed-signal circuit design principles. We expect experience supporting hardware bring-up, design validation, and troubleshooting of embedded electronic assemblies. We require strong knowledge of microcontroller peripherals and interfaces, including I²C, SPI, GPIO, ADC, DAC, CAN, UART, PWM, and timers. We need the ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot electrical schematics, PCB layouts, and component datasheets. We require practical experience using lab tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers, and similar test equipment. Preferred: U.S. citizenship. Preferred: Experience designing microprocessor and microcontroller subsystems, including power management, clocking, reset circuitry, memory interfaces, and communication architectures. Preferred: Experience with schematic capture and PCB design tools, ideally Altium Designer. Preferred: Experience developing technical requirements, architecture documents, and design specifications in a client-facing setting. Responsibilities: We design, develop, bring up, validate, and support low-power connected embedded systems. We create embedded firmware for microcontroller-based hardware using C/C++ and related low-level techniques. We work across the hardware/software boundary throughout the full product development lifecycle. We collaborate closely with hardware, software, mechanical, and systems engineering teams. We troubleshoot embedded electronics and support hardware bring-up and design verification. We analyze and optimize firmware performance and power usage for battery-operated devices. We contribute to the development of innovative connected products from concept through commercialization.
