Meridian Softworks · Posted 1d ago
About the role
Lead the development of AI and machine learning algorithms at Meridian Softworks.
Salary: $291000 - 362000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or AI and at least 8 years of experience building AI and machine learning algorithms or technologies, or a masters degree with at least 6 years of equivalent experience. We require at least 8 years of programming experience in Python, Go, Scala, or Java. We prefer 8+ years of experience delivering scalable, responsible AI solutions in cloud environments such as AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or comparable private cloud platforms. We prefer 2+ years of experience working with agentic frameworks such as LangChain, CrewAI, Semantic Kernel, or AutoGen. We prefer 2+ years of experience with LLMOps platforms such as Vertex AI, SageMaker, or Azure Machine Learning. We prefer 8+ years of experience designing mission-critical machine learning platforms. We prefer 2+ years of experience architecting, building, integrating, shipping, and supporting complex AI systems. We prefer proven leadership experience mentoring multiple engineering teams and influencing senior stakeholders up to VP level. We prefer hands-on experience developing AI and ML capabilities such as LLM inference, similarity search, vector databases, guardrails, and memory using Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang. We prefer a masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or another relevant technical discipline. We prefer experience improving training and inference software to increase hardware utilization, lower latency, improve throughput, and reduce cost. We prefer strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex AI topics clearly to technical peers. We prefer experience leading GenAI or LLM-powered application architectures in production. We prefer a deep understanding of responsible AI, data privacy, and multi-tenant security patterns. We prefer experience as a Staff-level, Principal, or Distinguished individual contributor influencing large engineering organizations and executive stakeholders. We prefer strong Kubernetes expertise, including multi-region clusters and service mesh. We prefer staying current with AI research and applying emerging techniques in real production environments. Responsibilities: We partner with engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to deliver AI-enabled products that improve the way our associates work and our customers engage with us. We help shape the platforms target architecture by publishing and refining diagrams, canonical APIs, and design patterns for agent orchestration, retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, prompt libraries, and multi-tenant policy controls. We evaluate and standardize agentic workflow frameworks such as LangGraph, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel, CrewAI, and LlamaIndex, then refine the patterns that can be broadly adopted across new applications. We build a strong developer experience through an end-to-end GenAI SDK, CLI, and starter kits that help AI engineers create secure, observable agentic workflows quickly. We design and support central trust-and-safety services, including prompt filtering, content moderation hooks, red-team testing harnesses, and audit APIs. We work with architects across the company to improve end-to-end performance through orchestration batching, retrieval caching, and heuristic tuning to reduce token-level spend. We incubate proof of concepts and author RFCs for emerging capabilities such as hierarchical agent memory and multimodal guardrails and retrieval solutions. We own core Helm charts, operators, and custom resource definitions that help automatically scale agents to meet tenant service-level expectations. We mentor senior technical leaders, hold architecture office hours, write technical design documents and blogs, and represent us at major AI conferences. We drive a culture of coaching and knowledge sharing to expand the reach and impact of our platform vision across internal and external communities. Technologies: AI AWS Azure C# Cloud Golang Hardware Helm Support Java Kubernetes LLM Machine Learning Python Scala Security More: We are Meridian Softworks, and our Intelligent Foundations and Experiences team is building responsible, reliable AI systems that help reimagine banking. We are creating an enterprise Generative AI platform that enables many product teams to assemble powerful, safe, and explainable AI capabilities without dealing with low-level model or infrastructure complexity. Our environment emphasizes scalable engineering, trust and safety, developer productivity, and production-ready AI infrastructure serving millions of users across multiple lines of business. This is a distinguished technical role based in locations including Cambridge, McLean, New York, San Francisco, and San Jose, with compensation ranges varying by market. We offer performance-based incentives and a comprehensive, competitive benefits package focused on health, financial well-being, and overall
