Director, Software Engineering (Electronic Trading)

Salary: $118000 - 240000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or an equivalent qualification. We look for 15+ years of hands-on software design and development experience within electronic trading. We need 5+ years of technical leadership experience, including team management and mentoring software developers. We require experience building algorithmic trading platforms for equities and options. We need experience with equities and options market data. We prefer a Series 57 license. We require advanced expertise in C/C++, Python, and Linux. We need deep experience with low-latency messaging systems such as 29West/Ultra-Messaging or Kafka. We require proficiency in KDB+ or similar time-series databases. We look for strong experience building scalable, distributed, asynchronous, and event-driven applications. We require advanced knowledge of low-latency architecture patterns and performance tuning methods. We need experience in Capital Markets or brokerage systems, particularly order management. We require a solid understanding of the FIX protocol and FIX engines. We value experience using GenAI developer assist tools such as GitHub Copilot. We require experience with CI/CD tooling such as GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, Artifactory, and uDeploy. We need experience deploying applications and services in AWS. We value strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills. Responsibilities: We architect and develop distributed, event-driven electronic trading systems designed for ultra-low latency and high throughput. We design and implement sophisticated algorithmic trading solutions for equities and options. We collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver dependable, resilient trading platforms. We lead performance profiling, tuning, and optimization efforts across the technology stack. We mentor engineers and champion strong engineering practices across the team. We support production and non-production environments, including occasional off-hours and weekend coverage as needed. We analyze complex end-to-end systems to identify bottlenecks in performance, scalability, and resiliency. We manage multiple priorities effectively and contribute in a highly collaborative team setting. We work closely with leadership and bring forward self-directed ideas for innovation.
