Digital Software Architect

Salary: $190000 - 257000 per year Requirements: We require an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance; a clearance active within the past 24 months also qualifies as active. We require a bachelors degree or equivalent. We require 9+ years of programming experience in C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or Ada. We require 6+ years of experience leading Agile teams and working with Agile methods. We require 6+ years of hands-on experience with DevSecOps technologies such as Kubernetes, cloud services, GitLab, Terraform, and similar tools. We need experience managing or leading a team, either formally or informally, with the ability to guide, coach, and support others. We need strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities. Preferred: a Bachelor of Science in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science, plus extensive related experience. Preferred: the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment. Preferred: experience in defense or aerospace. Preferred: the ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting. Preferred: knowledge of networking fundamentals. Preferred: understanding of the rigor required for safety-critical software. Responsibilities: We define, document, and uphold software engineering standards across the team, including coding conventions, branching approaches, code review methods, testing expectations, and definition of done. We partner with chief engineers to shape architectural decisions across DevSecOps teams. We translate digital engineering requirements and architecture choices into actionable team-level initiatives. We plan and coordinate software engineering execution across a team of 60 DevSecOps software engineers. We act as the main technical liaison for requirements clarification between chief engineers, IPT leads, and the DevSecOps team. We design and lead deployment plans for new tools, frameworks, platforms, and engineering practices. We continuously assess engineering workflows and identify improvements that reduce friction, rework, and delivery risk. We mentor mid-level engineers to accelerate growth and increase independence. This role is for a Digital Software Engineering Architect supporting a proprietary Air Dominance program within our Defense, Space & Security organization in Berkeley, Missouri. The position is 100% onsite on first shift, with relocation available based on eligibility.
