About the role

Operate and evolve Aperture Cloud’s on-premise and hybrid infrastructure for financial services.

About Aperture Cloud Founded in 2005, Aperture Cloud is the global financial platform that removes friction from doing business across borders, with a mission to connect the world’s underserved businesses to a rising global economy. We’re a community with over 2,500 colleagues all over the world, working to serve customers, and partners in over 190 countries and territories. By taking the complexity out of the financial workflows–including everything from global payments and compliance to multi-currency and workforce management, to providing working capital and business intelligence–we give businesses the tools they need to work efficiently worldwide and grow with confidence. As a DevOps Infrastructure Engineer , you will operate and evolve Aperture Cloud’s mission‑critical on‑premise and hybrid infrastructure that powers our financial services. You will be responsible for running secure, highly available VMware‑based data center environments, integrating them with public cloud platforms, and providing reliable infrastructure services to R&D, DataOps, and DevOps teams in a regulated FinTech environment. This role combines hands‑on operations, automation, monitoring, infrastructure hardening, and close collaboration with security and application teams to ensure our platforms remain resilient, compliant, and ready to scale. While titled DevOps, this is an infrastructure‑focused role, with an emphasis on operating and evolving on‑prem and hybrid platforms rather than application‑level CI/CD pipelines. What you'll do: Operate, maintain, and improve mission‑critical on‑prem infrastructure for financial systems (VMware, Windows, Linux). Support R&D, DataOps, and DevOps teams with reliable, secure, and compliant infrastructure services in a regulated FinTech environment. Administer and harden on‑prem data center workloads, including OS installation, configuration, patching, capacity planning, and performance management. Integrate on‑prem infrastructure with public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP) in secure hybrid setups, including networking and identity integration. Automate provisioning and configuration of VMs and environments using scripts and configuration management tools. Develop and maintain infrastructure tools and scripts for deployment, monitoring, backup, and day‑to‑day operations (PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar). Design, implement, and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting for on‑prem and hybrid environments using industry‑standard platforms. Participate in on‑call rotation and incident response for business‑critical financial services, driving root‑cause analysis and permanent fixes. Contribute to high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions, including backup/restore, replication, and failover scenarios. Collaborate closely with security, networking, and development teams to ensure end‑to‑end resilience, performance, and compliance of the platform. Who you are: 3+ years of experience as a System Administrator, Infrastructure Engineer, or DevOps Engineer in production environments (experience in FinTech or other regulated / mission‑critical industries is a plus). Strong hands‑on experience with VMware (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter) and Windows/Linux server administration in on‑prem data centers. Solid knowledge of core infrastructure services and networking concepts: Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, basic routing, and load balancing. Scripting skills in PowerShell and/or Bash/Python for automation of routine tasks, provisioning, and configuration. Experience with certificate and PKI management, infrastructure hardening, secure configurations, patching, and access control. Hands‑on experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, LogicMonitor, or similar). Strong troubleshooting skills, ownership mindset, and comfort working with business‑critical systems. Advantage: Experience with SAN/NAS storage systems and enterprise backup and recovery solutions. Knowledge of configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar) for managing on‑prem and hybrid environments at scale. Familiarity with containerization and Kubernetes ecosystems (Docker, Kubernetes), including basic cluster operations and troubleshooting. Security background, including firewalls, EDR/XDR, WAF, micro‑segmentation, API protection, and security best practices for on‑prem and hybrid environments. Hybrid cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP), including secure connectivity, IAM integration, and governance. Experience with messaging or streaming platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ. #LI-AG2 The Aperture Cloud Ways of Working Act as our customer’s partner on the inside Learning what they need and creating what will help them go further.
