About the role

Manage and optimize production infrastructure in Google Cloud Platform.

This is a remote position. We’re seeking an experienced DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer to help scale, operate, and optimize our production infrastructure. This role will take ownership of day-to-day cloud operations, reliability, deployments, and security practices, helping ensure our systems remain scalable, secure, and cost-efficient. You’ll work primarily in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) , supporting APIs and web applications in production and contributing to longer-term infrastructure planning. Key Responsibilities Manage, operate, and optimize infrastructure in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Design, deploy, and maintain containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes Own and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes Monitor system performance, reliability, and availability Identify and implement cloud cost optimization strategies Scale APIs and web applications to support growing usage Design, manage, and maintain database clustering using Percona Perform light database administration (backups, replication, performance, availability) Manage DNS configurations and core networking components Implement and maintain security best practices , including OWASP guidelines Support SOC 2 compliance initiatives, controls, and documentation Develop Python scripts for automation and operational tooling ​Contribute to infrastructure roadmaps and technical planning Requirements Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Proficiency in Linux system administration Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes (K8s) in production Solid understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting Experience supporting and scaling APIs and web applications Experience with database clustering and replication , including Percona Familiarity with system monitoring, logging, and alerting Experience with DNS management Ability to write Python for automation and scripting Working knowledge of security best practices , including OWASP Top 10 Experience supporting SOC 2 or similar security/compliance frameworks Demonstrated experience optimizing cloud costs Experience managing deployment and release pipelines ​Professional/business communications skills in English Nice to Have Experience in telecommunications or messaging platforms (SMS, RCS, SIP) Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform, Ansible, etc.) Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog Familiarity with GitOps workflows Experience with additional programming languages Benefits Fully remote role with flexible work arrangements Opportunity to build a next-generation telecom+AI platform Work alongside global engineering and executive leadership Ownership over architecture direction and technical strategy Competitive compensation and growth opportunities Occasional international travel for team and customer meetings Originally posted on Himalayas
